Senior Test Analyst

Overview

We operate more car parks in the UK than anyone else for our clients, ensuring they get the maximum benefit from the parking space. We’ve been doing this in the UK for over 15 years with over 300 staff. Now we are on a mission to expand into new markets, opening up operations across Europe including, Germany, Denmark and Austria. We are also innovating with tech such as the use of number plate recognition for efficient click-and-collect operations, and developing our own electric vehicle charging network, creating a new customer facing brand Evology. It’s a real time of innovation and expansion.

Key duties and responsibilities

Who you’ll be working with

  • A passionate growing IT team of over 20, working in squads
  • A great mix of long-standing and new team members along with a nearshore team in Poland
  • A team that wants to push boundaries and drive us to be the best we can be.

What you’ll be working on

  • Building and executing manual and automated tests for .Net applications, API’s and mobile applications.
  • Estimating and planning deliveries.
  • Interpreting business requirements to develop into test scripts, through test analysis and design using the appropriate test design techniques.
  • Working closely with the Software Engineer to understand the technical element of the requirements.
  • Peer reviewing test conditions and test scripts to ensure standards and quality are met and the level of test coverage is correct.
  • Deputising for the Test Lead as and when required.
  • Active member of the team involved through delivery and post-live support.
  • Driving our collaborative DevOps culture and practices.

  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills (listening, questioning, challenging, etc.).
  • Flexible approach to working.
  • Experience of working in diverse cross-functional agile teams.
  • Keep abreast of industry best practices in tools and techniques and demonstrate practical application where appropriate.
  • Identification and implementation of improvements to the software delivery process.
  • ISTQB/ISEB Foundation in Software Testing would be advantageous.

Qualifications & experience required

  • Strong experience of a range of testing types, functional, non-functional, regression, integration, UAT, etc.
  • Deep understanding of test case management tools such as Azure DevOps, Zephyr or similar.
  • Experience and good understanding of software testing in an Agile delivery environment.
  • A keen interest and experience of test automation practices.
  • Appreciation of performance, load and penetration/security testing practices and principles.
  • Able to write and execute SQL to validate test results.
  • Experience of testing Web applications, Mobile apps and API’s using relevant tools.
  • Experience of testing public cloud applications (ideally Azure).
  • Knowledge of cloud-first tech, such as serverless computing e.g. Azure Functions, service bus, etc.
