Background

 

Part of Fattal Hotels, the hotelier that entered the German market in 2007 and which currently operates more than 160 hotels in Europe, Leonardo Hotels is dedicated to the fulfilment of all its guests’ needs and wishes.

We’ve been working with Leonardo Hotels since 2015, developing a highly beneficial partnership in the years following our initial contact.

 

Challenges

 

Leonardo Hotels approached ParkingEye looking to implement user-friendly and reliable parking solutions for one of their sites. Located next to Heathrow Airport, the sheer volume of people in the area served as the catalyst for them getting in touch with us. This vast throughflow created a number of problems for the hotel, chief among them reduced availability for actual customers looking to use their parking facilities. It also created an increase in traffic congestion, which resulted in a downturn in the frequency of customer visits, losing revenue for the hotel in the process.

 

The ParkingEye Solution

 

Leonardo Hotels wanted a cost-effective solution which would reduce congestion and ensure that the car park was being used effectively and available to hotel guests in need of a parking space. We implemented ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology across the site, comprising paid parking tariffs to ensure proper usage.

The immediate benefits of the system’s installation saw an increase in the site’s revenue, along with an increase in the availability of space, clear signage across the estate, easier payment options and a greater footfall from legitimate paying customers. Through the partnership with Leonardo Hotels, our approach meant we achieved their requirement of greatly improved car parking at the hotel, ensuring that visitors to the site have secure, safe access thereby enhancing the customer experience as a result.
