There are several types of EV charging: Slow Charging (Up to 3kW) Slow chargers are typically used for overnight charging at homes, workplaces, or locations where vehicles are parked for extended periods. Depending on the vehicle and battery size, a full charge can take several hours. Fast Charging (7kW–22kW) Fast chargers are commonly found in car parks, retail destinations, hotels, workplaces, and leisure venues. They provide a convenient way for drivers to top up their vehicle while they shop, work, or visit nearby facilities, with charging times typically ranging from a few hours, depending on battery capacity and charger output. Rapid and Ultra-Rapid Charging (50kW+) Rapid and ultra-rapid chargers are designed for drivers who need to recharge quickly. Often located at roadside locations, service stations, and high-traffic destinations, they can add significant range in a short period of time, making them ideal for longer journeys or drivers with limited dwell time. Parkingeye offers a range of EV charging solutions to suit different locations and driver requirements. Our AC charging options include 7kW and 22kW chargers, ideal for destinations where vehicles are parked for longer periods. For sites requiring faster charging, we also offer DC fast chargers available in 50kW, 90kW, 120kW, and 180kW outputs, enabling drivers to add significant range during shorter visits.

Car sharing helps to remove cars from the road. If people share a commute, for example, it means fewer cars on the road - improving traffic, more space in a car park and fewer emissions being generated from people travelling to and from work.

This practice is commonly called ICE'ing and can be difficult to prevent without help. The Evology Charger houses ANPR technology within it, much like our Bay Management solution. Including this technology allows the charger to protect itself. Non-EV drivers are issued with a parking charge and the camera acts as a deterrent. This frees up more space for EV drivers to find and access charging.

Adding EV charging isn't just about installing the chargers on your site. EV is an investment, and you need to understand how your car park is being used to get the level of investment right. Fuel analysis data lets you chart how many electric vehicles use your car park, which is invaluable for gauging demand and making sure you invest in EV charging in a way that makes sense for your business.
